Smoking is pernicious. It reduces your quality of life and steals your money, health and self-respect. It is a killer!
Most people think the only danger in cigarettes is to be found in the tar content. WRONG!
Over 5000 toxic chemical compounds are to be found in cigarette smoke and this is what you inhale every time you take a drag on a fag!
Most people think the worst thing you can get from smoking is cancer. WRONG!
While it's true that it is the cancer that is likely to finally kill you, you can potentially look forward to an escalating spiral downwards into ill-health via bronchitis, asthma, emphysema and arterial disease.
So how do you give up? Well, there are a number of possibilities ranging from drugs to patches to therapy and even will-power! So which route is the best route, the one that offers the greatest chance of success?
To find the most effective method to stop smoking Frank Schmidt and research student Chockalingham Viswesvaran from the University of Iowa used a meta-analysis, utilising the results of more than 600 studies totalling nearly 72,000 people.
The results, which were published in the Journal of Applied Psychology and included 48 studies of hypnosis covering 6000 smokers, clearly showed that hypnosis, was three times more effective than Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT).
The journal New Scientist, vol 136, issue 1845, 31 Oct 1992 shows the following success rates for different smoking cessation programmes:
60% - Single Session Hypnosis
30% - Cassette Tapes/Hypnotic suggestion
29% - Exercise and breathing therapy
25% - Aversion therapy
24% - Acupuncture
10% - Nicotine Replacement Therapy
6% - Willpower alone
In line with research findings I offer a Smoking Cessation Programme utilising Hypnosis, NLP and EFT techniques.
So if you want the best chance of success, based on the research, book a session now.
The programme comprises one x three hour session.
Additionally, all Smoking Cessation Programme clients receive a CD to re-inforce the key learnings from their session and thereby get the top 2 treatments from the above list for the price of one. EFT techniques are taught and can be used as "crisis" management tool in unlikely event of cravings returning.
