Neuro Linguistic Programming was developed in the 1970s by Richard Bandler and John Grinder.
The term NLP is used to describe the collection of techniques, processes and interventions they developed from the studies they made of the top therapists of the period. However the sum is greater than the parts and NLP encompasses an attitude of great positivity towards clients.
Bandler and Grinder “modelled” the excellence of these experts in their work with patients and clients who were experiencing difficulties in their individual personal lives or relationships.
Out of this modelling process they developed quick and effective methods to help people resolve their problems often without the need of the practitioner to know the details of the problem. That is, they found a way to provide the solution to the problem “content free” saving the patient/client much of the anxiety or trauma of reliving specific details of the negative experience.
Since then NLP has been further developed and is now accepted and used enthusiastically around the world in many areas of human activity including sports coaching, corporate development and personal coaching to help people produce excellence in all fields.
